About the position

The Territory Sales Manager for the Southeast region is responsible for managing all sales activities within a designated territory. This role involves building and maintaining relationships with distributors, dealers, and end-users, while also ensuring the growth of sales through effective communication and product education. The position requires extensive travel and the ability to adapt to changing priorities, with a focus on achieving sales goals and representing Whelen Engineering professionally.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day sales activities in the assigned territory.
  • Build and maintain relationships with distributors, dealers, and end-users.
  • Update knowledge of Whelen's products and develop sales tools for new products.
  • Make regularly scheduled sales calls on assigned customers.
  • Identify and call on potential customers in the territory.
  • Work closely with Inside Sales Representatives to meet territory growth plans.
  • Demonstrate and educate distributors and end-users on Whelen products and services.
  • Provide weekly territory reporting to the Southeast Regional Sales Manager.
  • Assist in assembling and disassembling trade show booths.

Requirements

  • Sales experience required.
  • Ability to prioritize work and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Basic computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Drive.
  • Attention to detail and ability to complete tasks promptly.
  • Ability to lift up to 45 pounds (additional weight with assistance).
  • Ability and willingness to travel 75% of the time.
