About the position

The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for presenting company products and services to potential clients within Southern New England, specifically in Southern Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. This role focuses on retaining current business, converting new customers, and identifying future opportunities for market share growth. The manager will collaborate closely with the Territory Account Manager to maintain existing customer relationships and ensure customer satisfaction while achieving sales targets.

Responsibilities

  • Present company products and services to potential clients within the assigned territory.
  • Retain current business and convert new customers to increase market share.
  • Work closely with the Territory Account Manager to maintain customer relationships.
  • Develop new sales approaches to grow and develop sales accounts.
  • Follow established company procedures for placing customer orders and adhering to pricing guidelines.
  • Inform the purchasing department of large upcoming sales and out-of-stock concerns.
  • Achieve monthly budgeted sales goals and project customer sales and gross margins.
  • Report market intelligence on pricing and customer needs.
  • Develop collaborative working relationships with other departments, vendors, and customers.
  • Process credits/returns and follow up on overdue receivables.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and adhere to company processes.
  • Attend sales meetings, training, seminars, and trade shows.

Requirements

  • Previous sales experience with a track record of increasing revenue.
  • Valid unrestricted driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with all levels of employees and customers.
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently while prioritizing tasks.
  • Capacity to operate within established budgetary constraints.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Effective English and Spanish communication skills, both oral and written.
