About the position

The Territory Sales Manager - Specialty at Sumitomo Pharma America, Inc. is responsible for managing a designated territory to achieve and exceed sales objectives while building strong relationships with healthcare professionals. This role requires a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical landscape, particularly in oncology, urology, and other specialty areas, to effectively promote products and grow market share. The position emphasizes accountability and performance, with each manager owning their territory and driving results through strategic planning and clinical expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the assigned territory and achieve sales objectives.
  • Establish deep and meaningful business relationships with customers.
  • Increase market share by closing new business in both new and existing accounts.
  • Support sales results with clinical expertise and understanding of the healthcare landscape.
  • Assess and analyze product/competitor trends and market dynamics.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Travel throughout the territory, including overnight stays and occasional weekend work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
  • 5+ years of pharmaceutical sales experience required.
  • Demonstrated mastery of product and disease state knowledge.
  • Proven track record of top-ranked sales performance.
