About the position

As a Territory Sales Manager at Option Care Health, you will play a pivotal role in managing the development and execution of sales, marketing, and business development activities under the guidance of the Regional Sales Director, Health Systems Solutions. Your primary objective will be to exceed revenue and gross margin targets for your assigned team. This position requires you to identify growth opportunities within local practices, hospitals, and health systems, collaborating with various stakeholders to drive strategic account plans that ensure consistent revenue, margin, and referral growth. You will actively engage in account management and business development efforts, modeling and teaching desired behaviors to your team while partnering with operations to resolve customer service issues and maintain high-quality service. In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales by developing market growth plans in collaboration with operations counterparts. You will set goals and develop sales forecasts for each assigned territory, ensuring alignment with national business unit objectives. Your leadership will extend to developing Account Executives, guiding them in creating and delivering impactful sales presentations, and leading consultative sales discussions. You will maintain strong relationships with branch management to ensure that sales efforts are supported and aligned with branch capabilities. Monitoring competitors and industry trends will be crucial as you develop sales plans accordingly. You will analyze input from various sources to create new initiatives and business plans that address market entry strategies, financial analyses, and resource allocation. Additionally, you will serve as an expert in local market dynamics, coaching your team to achieve a high level of competency in complex disease states and payer issues. Your responsibilities will also include staffing, performance management, and ensuring compliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements. Ultimately, you will position yourself as a 'player/coach,' stepping in to prospect and close business when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the development and execution of sales, marketing, and business development activities to exceed revenue and gross margin objectives.
  • Identify growth opportunities within local practices, hospitals, and health systems.
  • Direct the activities of Account Executives, Care Transition Specialists, and Care Transition Coordinators to execute strategic account plans.
  • Engage in account management and business development efforts with the team.
  • Partner with operations to resolve customer service issues and ensure high-quality service.
  • Drive sales by developing market growth plans in collaboration with operations counterparts.
  • Set goals and develop sales forecasts for each assigned territory.
  • Develop Account Executives to create and deliver sales presentations and lead consultative sales discussions.
  • Maintain strong relationships with branch management to ensure alignment of sales efforts with branch capabilities.
  • Monitor competitors, industry, and sales trends to develop sales plans accordingly.
  • Analyze input from various sources to create new initiatives and develop appropriate business plans.
  • Provide productivity analysis and feedback to the sales team on performance overall and with key customers.
  • Coach and develop the team to a high level of competency in local market dynamics and complex disease states.
  • Identify opportunities and develop relationships with alliance partners to increase business.
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation, legal, regulatory, and safety requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a clinical field, or a high school diploma with 5 years of related business-to-business healthcare/medical sales experience.
  • 1-2 years of previous business-to-business healthcare/medical related sales leadership experience.
  • Experience in analyzing and reporting sales data to identify issues and trends.
  • Experience using and teaching time management skills such as prioritizing and organizing project plans.
  • Experience developing and delivering presentations to various stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA in Business Administration with at least 4 years of pharmaceutical or healthcare sales experience.
  • Prior experience selling strategic solutions to hospitals, health systems, and medical groups.
  • Infusion/health care service experience in therapeutic areas such as anti-infective, nutrition, immunology/neurology, oncology, or transplant.
  • Basic understanding of billing and reimbursement procedures for hospitals and medical offices.
  • One year of experience directly managing people.
