About the position

The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for developing and managing relationships with both established and new customers in Steamboat Springs, CO. The role focuses on selling food and non-food items to meet sales and profitability goals, while engaging customers in value-added activities and leveraging resources for top penetration opportunities and new account openings.

Responsibilities

  • Foster the customer relationship in a team-based selling model.
  • Manage deliveries according to the routing schedule published by the transportation department and troubleshoot any issues during the order process.
  • Communicate and collect accounts receivable as necessary, working with the credit department and clients to collect all balances due based on approved credit terms.
  • Leverage resources to assist with top penetration opportunities and new account openings.
  • Develop new business by identifying prospective customers using market intelligence databases, business directories, and leads from existing clients, as well as participating in organizations and attending trade shows and conferences.
  • Stay informed about market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' products, prices, and sales, sharing this information with customers as part of value-added services.
  • Drive a motor vehicle to existing customers and prospects to ensure product delivery, which may include lifting/carrying up to 75lbs.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in sales, preferably in the food service or related industry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster customer relationships.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and troubleshoot delivery issues effectively.
  • Knowledge of market conditions and competitors' offerings.
