About the position

The Territory Sales Manager (TSM) plays a crucial role in managing, directing, and coordinating sales efforts for Royal Truck & Equipment, Inc. within a designated geographical area, specifically targeting the Texas region along with Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Washington, and California. This position operates under minimal supervision and is responsible for achieving measurable annual growth within the territory. The TSM will engage in end-user education and training while providing responsive customer service to ensure client satisfaction and retention. The ideal candidate will be based in Texas, preferably in the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area, and will be tasked with servicing existing sales accounts while actively prospecting for new business opportunities. The TSM must meet sales and profit goals in alignment with the company's sales and marketing plan and corporate policies. This role requires the development and maintenance of skills and expertise to establish a reputation as a credible and competent solution provider in the market. Key responsibilities include preparing sales forecasts for planning purposes, maintaining documentation of sales contracts and proposals, and conducting customer research to recommend new products and enhancements. The TSM will also stay informed about industry trends and competitive products that may impact target markets. Daily communication with the Director of Sales or Regional Sales Manager is essential, along with submitting weekly sales reports to track progress and performance. Additionally, the TSM is expected to uphold a consistent and professional corporate image across all communications and promotional materials. Participation in product demonstrations, trade shows, and sales meetings is required, as is adherence to all company policies and ethical standards. This position demands excellent organizational skills, the ability to manage a challenging workload, and proficiency in using personal computing devices and productivity software.

Responsibilities

  • Service existing sales accounts and prospect for new opportunities within the assigned territory.
  • Meet sales and profit goals while adhering to the sales and marketing plan and corporate policies.
  • Develop and maintain skills and expertise to establish a reputation as a credible and competent solution provider.
  • Prepare sales forecasts for planning and controlling customer inventories.
  • Maintain documentation of sales contracts, opportunities, and proposals in accordance with records retention policy.
  • Conduct 'voice of the customer' research to recommend new products and enhancements.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive products, and technical developments affecting target markets.
  • Maintain daily communication with the Director of Sales or Regional Sales Manager.
  • Submit weekly sales reports to the Director of Sales.
  • Establish and maintain a consistent and professional corporate image throughout all communications and activities.
  • Plan, organize, and attend product demonstrations, trade shows, and sales meetings.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and code of business ethics.

Requirements
