About the position

The Territory Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth within the Ventura and Santa Barbara regions by developing and maintaining relationships with healthcare practitioners (HCPs). This role involves regular in-person visits to HCP offices, utilizing CRM tools for effective territory management, and conducting educational programs to promote whole-food nutritional supplements. The position requires a strong understanding of sales principles and the ability to analyze market data to identify business opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Drive revenue across the defined territory by nurturing existing accounts and building new ones.
  • Regularly visit HCP offices within the assigned territory to achieve budgeted sales volume and goals.
  • Utilize CRM for pre-call planning and post-call notes for effective territory management.
  • Develop promotional strategies for whole-food nutritional supplements in the HCP market.
  • Analyze market data to assist in strategy development.
  • Identify business opportunities based on trends in the supplement field.
  • Collaborate with inside sales partners to generate leads and resolve customer issues.
  • Provide feedback to sales operations and marketing for training and educational tools.
  • Conduct educational programs for HCPs and distributor sales representatives.
  • Cultivate relationships with industry opinion leaders to maximize growth potential.
  • Leverage relationships to expand the HCP network.
  • Utilize internal resources to ensure timely responses to customer inquiries.
  • Meet forecasted sales goals.
  • Attend training sessions and meetings as required.
  • Travel to regional or national tradeshows and conferences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of outside sales experience, preferably in the practitioner channel.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Good understanding of nutrition basics.
  • Experience analyzing sales and demographic data.
  • Demonstrated success in product sales and territory development.
  • Experience with CRM software, preferably Salesforce.com.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to apply sales data analysis to develop strategies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in sales of natural or complementary/alternative products.
  • Knowledge of SP Formulas and natural products marketplaces.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with HCPs at a sophisticated level.
