About the position

The Territory Sales Manager for Virtual Fencing Technology at Merck is a vital role within the field sales team, focusing on promoting and implementing innovative virtual fencing solutions for ranches in the Western U.S. This position is essential for driving sales growth and enhancing conservation outcomes in grazing management. The successful candidate will engage with ranchers, government entities, and NGOs to optimize grazing resources and reduce costs associated with traditional fencing methods.

Responsibilities

  • Identify sales opportunities suitable for Virtual Fencing technology.
  • Develop sales proposals and implement contractual agreements.
  • Create and execute sales strategies and tactics to reach the target customer base, including field days and regional meetings.
  • Gather and communicate market intelligence to management and marketing teams.
  • Coordinate with the Rancher Success Team to transition new customers successfully.
  • Provide feedback and content to the Marketing organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working with the ranching community.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the beef industry and cattle grazing.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Motivated and focused on achieving measurable results.
  • Ability to build internal relationships and work collaboratively in a matrix organization.
  • Skills in planning, organization, communication, selling, and business acumen.
  • Willingness to travel overnight 50% of the time.
