About the position

This position is a territory-based New Business Development role focused on the renewable energy sector, specifically within the organic waste collection and recycling industry. The role involves identifying and developing new business opportunities, managing projects, and ensuring compliance with regulations while maintaining strong client relationships. It offers a hybrid work environment with a competitive salary and uncapped variable compensation.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, target, and develop new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with potential clients, partners, and stakeholders in the renewable energy industry.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to devise strategies for market expansion.
  • Present renewable energy solutions and services to potential clients.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their specific needs and develop tailored proposals.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure new partnerships and projects.
  • Oversee the successful execution of projects within the territory, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions and services to clients.
  • Monitor project performance, resolve any issues, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Stay informed about local and national regulations related to renewable energy and ensure compliance with these regulations.
  • Assist clients in navigating the permitting and regulatory processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, project progress, and client communications.
  • Prepare regular reports on the status of projects, sales performance, and market insights.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a relevant field (e.g., Business, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, etc.).
  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or project management in the renewable energy sector.
  • Experience in Organic Waste, Renewable Energy, Recycling Programs is a huge plus.
  • Specific experience within waste management is a huge plus.
  • Ability to cold call and set in-person meetings.
  • Ability to drive and meet with clients within the region (1 hour) in person.
  • Self-sufficient, ability to manage your own schedule, set meetings, travel as needed, and maintain admin and follow up.
  • Strong knowledge of renewable energy technologies, regulations, and industry trends.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing market conditions.
  • Willingness to travel within the assigned territory as required.

Benefits

  • Remote role in Indianapolis Region with travel across region
  • $100-125k base salary + uncapped variable compensation
