About the position

The Territory Sales Manager for the West Region at Carrier is responsible for managing commercial accounts and enhancing distribution channel management performance. This role involves building strong business relationships, driving sales, and participating in business development activities to support the company's strategy in the HVAC and refrigeration sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage commercial accounts across the western United States.
  • Establish prospects and develop professional relationships to understand customer needs.
  • Aid in business development activities for prospects within defined customer segments.
  • Prospect bid opportunities and participate in the preparation of bid responses and negotiations with potential customers.
  • Develop new customer contact leads for the sales business development team.
  • Identify prospective target accounts and present them to the sales business development team.
  • Develop personal customer relationships with prospective accounts to influence opportunities.
  • Participate in trade shows to increase the visibility of the organization.
  • Drive sales in the Western USA.
  • Develop commercial partnership relations and find new markets for existing products.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED with 5 years of Account Management Experience or Bachelor's Degree with 3 years of Account Management Experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in the combustion system or boiler-related industry.
  • Proven record of sales growth.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with external customers and across functional teams of sales, engineering, manufacturing, and marketing associates.
  • Sense of urgency, self-initiative, dedication, and sense of ownership.
  • Outstanding follow-up and follow-through skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize.
  • Unwavering customer service orientation with appropriate level of customer empathy.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in HVAC or refrigeration industries.
  • Familiarity with trade shows and industry networking.
