The Territory Sales Manager for Western Michigan is a pivotal role within our sales team, focusing on business development and market expansion. This position is designed for a dynamic individual who thrives in a hunter mentality sales environment, where the primary goal is to identify, prospect, and secure new customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of their designated sales territory, ensuring that sales goals are not only met but exceeded. This role requires a self-starter who can operate effectively from a home-office base while maintaining strong relationships with both corporate office staff and field sales personnel. In this position, you will utilize the company's sales automation tools to streamline your sales processes and enhance productivity. Your responsibilities will include developing and executing strategic sales plans, conducting market research to identify new opportunities, and building collaborative relationships with clients. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in business-to-business sales, particularly within the foodservice or hospitality sectors. To succeed in this role, you must demonstrate a results-oriented approach, showcasing your ability to exceed sales targets through effective negotiation and relationship-building skills. You will also be expected to provide regular updates on sales performance and market trends to the management team, ensuring alignment with the company's overall sales strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, prospect, and sell new customers
  • Successfully sell to new customers and achieve sales goals
  • Directly manage all aspects of your sales territory
  • Utilize Company's sales automation tool to assist in managing sales territory
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with the corporate office staff as well as the field sales organization

Requirements

  • Experience with business development, market development, or outside sales
  • Proven record of exceeding sales targets
  • Strong work ethic and excellent selling, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Five years of outside sales experience or a bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
