About the position

Merits Health Products is dedicated to enhancing lives through the provision of high-quality mobility solutions, including power mobility chairs, scooters, manual chairs, motorized beds, patient aids, and stairlifts. With a strong emphasis on innovative engineering and customer support, we are currently seeking a Remote Territory Sales Manager (TSM) for the Chicago Metro Area, which includes locations such as Bloomingdale, Park Ridge, Evanston, and Wheeling. This full-time, W-2 position is crucial for driving sales and marketing efforts within the assigned territory. The TSM will play a pivotal role in building product demand by developing effective relationships and delivering value in every sales interaction, thereby advancing the company's vision and culture. The primary responsibility of the Territory Sales Manager is to increase sales of our product offerings. This involves educating customers about our products, targeting key accounts, and developing opportunities to exceed budgeted sales goals. The TSM will collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain quality standards and promote continuous improvement. Additionally, the role requires a minimum of four days of travel per week within the assigned territory, with one day allocated for planning and analysis from the home office. The TSM must also conduct a minimum of seventeen qualified in-services per year at rehab providers or referral facilities, participate in weekly call reports to evaluate sales activities, and stay updated on product developments, industry standards, and government regulations related to competitive bidding and Medicare billing codes. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality standards are maintained and to promote continuous improvement of products.
  • Educate customers on the value proposition and benefits of the product.
  • Travel within assigned territory a minimum of 4 days per week; one home office day may be utilized for planning and analysis if needed.
  • Satisfy a minimum of seventeen (17) qualified in-services per year at rehab providers or referral facilities.
  • Attend and participate in weekly call reports to evaluate and provide feedback on sales activities.
  • Remain current on new and existing product development and information.
  • Stay updated on industry standards and trends, competitors, and leading customer strategies.
  • Stay abreast of government regulations related to competitive bidding and Medicare billing codes.
  • Follow company safety policies and participate in safety training as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 5 years of relevant sales experience, preferably in DME and/or mobility equipment.
  • High school diploma or GED; college degree preferred.
  • Valid US Driver's License in good standing.
  • Experience with ERP/CRM systems or willingness to learn quickly.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills and capacity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
