About the position

Konecranes is seeking a goal-driven leader to fill the role of Territory Sales Manager, covering territories in Wisconsin, Northern Indiana, Illinois, and Michigan. This position is critical for driving sales growth and customer retention within the assigned area. The Territory Sales Manager will be responsible for leading service sales professionals, managing direct sales activities, and ensuring the achievement of sales targets. The ideal candidate will possess a strong ambition for professional success and advancement, demonstrating the ability to manage multiple multi-million dollar business units across a large, multi-state geographic area. This role requires a commitment to customer focus, business growth, and effective leadership, ensuring that the sales team is motivated and equipped to meet the company's objectives. The Territory Sales Manager will set marketplace initiatives aimed at achieving double-digit growth, primarily through the performance of direct reports. This includes increasing revenue year over year and retaining and expanding customer markets by utilizing research and technology to improve market share. The position also involves monitoring and motivating the sales team through effective hiring, training, development, and onboarding processes. The Territory Sales Manager will lead safety initiatives within the territory and collaborate with the Territory Leadership team to drive growth in orders, sales, and profitability. In addition to these responsibilities, the Territory Sales Manager will oversee the effective use of CRM systems to manage customer relationships and ensure sales excellence. Regular coaching sessions will be held with sales resources to meet targets and execute individual development plans. The role also includes participation in monthly management meetings, generating sales forecasts, and addressing billing issues collaboratively with the management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for hiring and firing decisions of sales personnel, ensuring that all customer complaints are resolved satisfactorily, and participating in the renewal of key segment agreements. Overall, this position is pivotal in shaping the sales strategy and driving the success of Konecranes in the marketplace.

Responsibilities

  • Set marketplace initiatives to achieve double-digit growth within the territory.
  • Monitor, motivate, and drive performance through effective hiring, training, development, and onboarding.
  • Develop sales capabilities by coaching and mentoring sales professionals.
  • Lead and ensure safety in the territory.
  • Retain and expand SMA/Customer markets using research and technology to improve market share.
  • Direct the right sales channel at the right time for customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure sales resources effectively utilize CRM to manage customer relationships and sales excellence.
  • Hold weekly coaching sessions with all sales resources to meet ComEx targets and execute individual development plans.
  • Oversee, collect, and report on Business Review activities and results.
  • Submit a monthly Rush Report including a 3-month forecast of sales and orders.
  • Participate in monthly management meetings to review business status and address concerns.
  • Generate the sales required to meet budgeted sales by SP's and oversee service sales processes.
  • Resolve customer complaints to the satisfaction of the customer and in the best interest of Konecranes.
  • Participate in the renewal of key segment agreements and review pricing policies with the Territory Operations Manager.
  • Provide market and competitive information periodically.
  • Responsible for hiring and firing decisions of sales personnel in consultation with the Vice-President of Sales.
  • Resolve credit or billing problems that have not been resolved by Branch teams or Operations Management.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated leadership experience and well-developed 'people' skills.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical principles.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good PC skills.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience as a manager in service-related sales or operations, or equivalent experience.
