About the position

Cameron Ashley Building Products is seeking a Territory Sales Manager to drive sales growth across a designated geographical area. This role is pivotal in leveraging industry and product knowledge to enhance the company's value proposition among strategically aligned customer bases. The Territory Sales Manager (TSM) will proactively engage with existing, new, and potential customers to expand the company's market presence and sales footprint. The TSM will be responsible for developing and executing strategic growth strategies, managing customer relationships, and ensuring that the company's products and services are effectively represented in the market. The primary responsibilities include establishing effective sales relationships with customers, developing strategic growth initiatives, and utilizing product knowledge to represent the company's offerings. The TSM will work closely with the Distribution Center Manager and Inside Sales Representatives to penetrate key accounts and develop new business opportunities. Timely quoting, handling price objections, and preparing bids are essential functions of this role. Additionally, the TSM will keep customers informed about product and pricing updates, deliver sales presentations, and analyze account information to identify sales strategies and objectives. Responsibilities

  • Proactively engage with new, existing, and potential customers to establish effective sales relationships.
  • Develop and drive strategic growth strategies to manage relationships with customer accounts.
  • Utilize product knowledge and market awareness to represent the company's products and services effectively.
  • Develop the assigned geographical area by leveraging strategic contacts and targeting new opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Distribution Center Manager and Inside Sales Representatives to execute key account penetration strategies.
  • Provide timely quotes and sell customers on the company's value-add and service.
  • Handle price objections, negotiations, and preparation of bids.
  • Keep customers updated on product and price information.
  • Develop and deliver sales and educational presentations to internal and external customers.
  • Record, analyze, report, and forecast account information to identify sales strategies and objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Outside sales experience is a must; building products experience is preferred.
  • Ability to understand the key aspects of selling on value as opposed to price.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within the dynamic and evolving sales cycle.
  • Self-directed approach to studying new products, literature, promotions, and trade publications.
  • Territory travel required (50 - 75%); with limited overnight travel.
  • Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass drug test and background verifications.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
