About the position

The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales growth of the company's diverse range of building products and services within a designated geographical area. This role involves engaging with existing and potential customers to establish effective sales relationships, developing strategic growth strategies, and leveraging industry knowledge to enhance the company's market presence. The position requires proactive engagement with customers, effective communication, and the ability to manage key accounts while targeting new business opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively engages with new, existing, and potential customers to establish effective sales relationships.
  • Develops and drives strategic growth strategies to manage relationships with customer accounts.
  • Utilizes product knowledge and market awareness to represent the company's products and services effectively.
  • Develops the assigned geographical area by leveraging strategic contacts and targeting new opportunities.
  • Works with the Distribution Center Manager and Inside Sales Rep(s) to execute key account penetration and development strategies.
  • Provides timely quotes while promoting the company's value-add and service.
  • Handles price objections, negotiations, and prepares bids.
  • Keeps customers updated on product and price information.
  • Delivers sales and educational presentations to internal and external customers.
  • Records, analyzes, reports, and forecasts account information to identify sales strategies and objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Outside sales experience is a must; building products experience is preferred.
  • Ability to understand key aspects of selling on value rather than price.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a dynamic and evolving sales cycle.
  • Self-directed approach to studying new products, literature, promotions, and trade publications.
  • Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass drug test and background verifications.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
