About the position

The Business Development Manager at GardaWorld is a pivotal role responsible for driving profitable business growth in the security services sector within an assigned geographical area, specifically Union, New Jersey. This position requires a strategic approach to marketing and sales methodologies to identify and secure new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will engage with clients and prospects to assess their satisfaction with services and to uncover additional business opportunities that align with sales goals. The role demands a strong understanding of financial reports and the ability to establish personal credibility with both internal and external clients through honesty, consistency, and dependability. In this role, the Business Development Manager will be tasked with identifying potential prospects and developing comprehensive sales strategies from inception to completion. This includes analyzing local and expansion markets to pinpoint sales opportunities, prospective companies, and their associated buyers. The manager will also be responsible for developing pricing and business development strategies, preparing proposals, responding to RFPs, and delivering compelling sales presentations. Collaboration with local management and Regional Vice Presidents is essential to plan, conduct, and follow up on sales opportunities effectively. The manager will need to follow up on referrals and self-generated leads to understand buyer influences and timing issues, preparing reports on the status of leads and other required documentation. Additionally, planning and organizing activities that enhance the brand presence in the assigned market and negotiating terms of sales, contract wording, and implementation timing are critical components of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Identify prospects and develop sales strategies from start to finish securing new business.
  • Analyze local and expansion markets to identify sales opportunities, prospective companies, and associated buyers.
  • Develop pricing and business development strategies.
  • Prepare proposals, RFP responses, and sales presentations.
  • Work with local management and Regional Vice Presidents to plan, conduct, and follow up on sales opportunities.
  • Follow up on referrals and self-generated leads to identify buyer influences and any timing issues; prepare reports on status of leads and other reports as required.
  • Plan and organize activities that build our brand in the assigned market.
  • Negotiate terms of sales, contract wording, timing of implementation, etc.

Requirements

  • A college degree in business or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years business development experience; 5 years preferred.
