About the position

The Territory Sales Manager (TSM) at Insight Global will serve as a vital link between a manufacturing facility and its customer base in Palm Springs, California. This role focuses on maximizing sales and margins while actively pursuing new business opportunities. The TSM is expected to provide technical advice to customers and agents, ensuring strong relationships and effective sales strategies are implemented.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and promote product offerings
  • Prepare customer quotations, shipping authorizations, return authorizations, and customer feedback using the end client's software package
  • Develop and nurture relationships with customer base
  • Price products effectively to market positions to maximize revenue
  • Create regional sales plans and quotas in alignment with business objectives
  • Analyze data to find the most efficient sales methods
  • Travel through assigned territory meeting with customers to address concerns, provide solutions, and generate business opportunities
  • Develop plans to acquire new customers through direct sales techniques, cold calling, and working through sales agent organizations in their assigned region
  • Set up and implement presentations with customers using demonstrations & PowerPoints
  • Conduct training for agents in sales techniques and company product attributes
  • Participate in industry or promotional events (trade shows) to cultivate customer relationships
  • Gather and monitor competitive data within assigned region by using customer and agent relationships
  • Report on regional sales results
  • Forecast quarterly and annual business demand and growth
  • Prepare and submit reports to the Sales Manager
  • Address potential problems and provide prompt solutions

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, etc.)
  • 6+ years of sales experience
  • New business development, building strong client relationships
  • Superior communication, both spoken & written
  • Extreme comfortability and desire to be client facing, both 1-on-1 as well as group settings
  • Managing customer expectations
  • Providing candid feedback
  • Receiving candid feedback
  • Proficient with MS Suites (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
  • Previous experience within the utility industry
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering / product offerings
