About the position

The Territory Sales Manager at Briggs & Stratton is responsible for expanding the profitable sale of Ferris products through consultative selling in an assigned territory. This role involves managing customer expectations, securing orders, and effectively communicating and implementing company programs to customers. The ideal candidate will be located in Central Texas and will focus on building business partnerships, maintaining customer service, and achieving territory goals.

Responsibilities

  • Presenting sales & marketing programs to secure new and existing orders from customers.
  • Developing business partnerships with new and existing customers.
  • Maintaining a level of service and communication with customers through a regular call cycle, including phone contact and personal visits.
  • Recruiting new customers based on market potential and company strategy.
  • Interfacing with management and support personnel for consistent communication and customer support.
  • Meeting territory goals/objectives based on a business plan and revising it as necessary.
  • Controlling and reducing selling costs through efficient customer ranking and expense control.
  • Reviewing and analyzing sales and marketing data to promote sales and determine customer needs.
  • Promoting customer commitments through advertising and sound merchandising practices.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a sales or customer service environment.
  • Experience selling into the outdoor power equipment space.
  • Solid knowledge of all Briggs & Stratton products and sales procedures.
  • Ability to analyze sales trends to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid computer skills including understanding of sales software systems, word processing, and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to work independently with solid organizational skills.
  • Desire to continuously improve through training.
  • Ability to manage business schedule and territory travel effectively.
  • Fluent in English and the primary language used in the area of responsibility.
