About the position

The Territory Sales Manager (TSM) for Heavy Equipment at Reco Equipment is a pivotal role responsible for driving sales and developing business within a designated territory. The TSM will represent Reco Equipment in the market, focusing on the sales of new and used heavy and compact equipment, as well as attachments. The role involves planning and executing field sales activities, which include scheduled meetings, new business prospecting, and cold calling at job sites and offices. In addition to direct sales responsibilities, the TSM will conduct machine and attachment demonstrations, ensuring that customers are well-informed about product specifications and performance. The position demands consistent performance in key areas such as account management, effective utilization of CRM systems, and product training. The TSM will be measured on total sales, market share, and profitability within their defined geographic territory. The role also requires the TSM to monitor business trends, gather market intelligence, and maintain a strong understanding of all Reco products to provide consultative assistance to customers. Building and maintaining relationships with existing customers while forming new partnerships through networking and cold calling is essential. The TSM must work closely with the assigned Regional Sales Manager to prioritize new business opportunities and enhance overall customer satisfaction. Professionalism and teamwork are highly valued, and the TSM is expected to adhere to the RECO Process and meet management requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Represent RECO in the market according to company values.
  • Develop an assigned territory to drive sales of new and used equipment and attachments.
  • Secure business through planning and executing field sales activities, including scheduled meetings and cold calls.
  • Conduct machine and attachment demonstrations.
  • Ensure consistent performance in account management, new business prospecting, and effective CRM utilization.
  • Monitor business trends, market intelligence, and competitive practices to communicate the state of the business effectively.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of all RECO products to offer consultative assistance.
  • Work closely with the assigned Regional Sales Manager to develop new business opportunities and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with existing customers and form new partnerships through networking and cold calling.
  • Meet or exceed all requirements of management and excel in RECO Quarterly Review statistics.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of outside sales experience required.
  • Proven ability to effectively market products, negotiate terms, and close deals.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain positive relationships with customers and leaders.
  • Proficient in MS Office and Google platform.
  • Self-starter, proactive, strategic thinker, and resourceful.
  • Effective organizational, time management, and priority-setting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with CRM-based software.
  • Valid driver's license and must meet insurance driving requirements.
  • Physical ability to climb in and out of vehicles and equipment used for demonstration purposes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in heavy equipment sales preferred.
  • B2B sales experience of at least 2 years preferred.
  • Customer service experience of at least 2 years preferred.
