About the position

The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for managing sales personnel within a designated territory, developing and implementing effective sales and marketing strategies, and growing existing accounts while establishing new customer relationships. This role requires a strong focus on achieving sales and margin goals through coordination with branch managers and effective territory planning.

Responsibilities

  • Manage sales personnel in an assigned territory.
  • Develop and implement an effective sales and marketing strategy to drive sales within the territory.
  • Grow existing accounts through establishing customer relationships, assisting customers to solve problems, and helping customers become more profitable and productive.
  • Establish new customers in construction, industrial, PVF, and metal working through cold calling and direct selling.
  • Coordinate sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals.
  • Establish training programs for sales representatives.
  • Arrange and coordinate staff trade shows, open houses and other marketing functions related to the territory.
  • Work closely with branch managers to ensure all resources and personnel are working together to achieve company goals.
  • Prepare reports relative to the sales of the territory.
  • Maintain customer receivables and handle collections as required.
  • Work with vendors related to market needs.
  • Support and achieve territory and company sales & margin goals.

Requirements

  • Past performance demonstrates a high degree of ability in territory planning, organizing, communicating and selling.
  • Previous, successful experience (minimum of 2yr) in outside sales, preferably in construction/PVF/Industrial related industry.
  • Ability to maintain records in an ERP system.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Coaching skills.
  • Ability to multitask, switching between tasks quickly and seamlessly.
  • High level of organization to accomplish a large number of tasks with accuracy while prioritizing.
  • Problem solving skills with the ability to prioritize.
  • Persistence - dedication to win on a team level.
  • Patience and resilience.
