About the position

The Territory Sales Manager at John Deere is responsible for driving sales growth in the construction and forestry sector by collaborating with dealers and engaging key customers. This remote position covers a significant territory, including parts of New England and Upstate New York, and requires a strong background in sales and marketing within the construction equipment industry.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with dealers to manage sales processes and drive sales growth.
  • Act as lead within the assigned territory to implement strategic initiatives with products and solutions.
  • Drive effective use of incentives and programs to accomplish sales targets.
  • Arrange and execute product, application, and sales process training with dealers.

Requirements

  • 3 or more years in Construction or off-road equipment industry with sales and marketing experience.
  • Experience working with large dealer networks.
  • Demonstrated field experience, managing a large profitable territory.
  • Ability to apply business concepts and tools to tactical and strategic initiatives, working closely with a dealer organization.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

Nice-to-haves

  • High level understanding of the Construction industry and products.
  • Field experience with regular customer contact and knowledge of dealer/distribution networks.
  • Understanding of customer segments, production systems, and their various requirements.
  • Proven ability to influence without authority in working with dealers and field managers.
  • Experience/skills with sales, handling objections, and effective negotiations.
