About the position

The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for driving growth in commercial, residential, and OEM business through specified distribution channels, ensuring alignment with budget and gross margin objectives. This role involves coordinating sales activities, managing the distribution chain, and collaborating with architectural sales personnel to oversee the entire sales cycle from specification to final sale. The manager will engage with end-users, contractors, builders, architects, and installers to create demand and close sales, while also identifying new market opportunities and managing key relationships within the territory.

Responsibilities

  • Drive growth of commercial, residential, and OEM business through specified distribution channels.
  • Coordinate sales activities in the region and manage the distribution chain.
  • Work with architectural sales personnel to coordinate the entire sales cycle from specification through final sale.
  • Engage with end-users, contractors, builders, architects/specifiers, owners, and installers to create demand and close sales.
  • Identify and call on top builders in the region to specify Building and Finishing solutions for residential use.
  • Drive product specification activity through Architects, Consultants, and Engineers.
  • Establish and manage key owner relationships and activities within the territory.
  • Provide weekly and monthly sales activity reports.
  • Manage project pricing including general pricing directives.
  • Provide training and product demonstrations targeted to builders, architects, contractors, and installers.
  • Follow company environmental and safety policies.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree, BA/BS preferred, or relevant work experience.
  • Minimum of five years of sales or related experience in the building materials industry.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, communication, presentation, negotiating, organization, and listening skills.
  • High level of energy and enthusiasm with a customer-driven entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Must be able to travel up to 60% within assigned territory.
  • Computer proficient with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding presentation abilities.
  • Valid Driver License in good standing.
  • Ability to travel via car, train, and airplane with overnight travel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of building envelope/building science and exterior cladding assemblies preferred.
