Our client is seeking a Territory Sales Manager for the Minneapolis territory. This individual will be responsible for selling products for a manufacturer and distributor to business and industrial establishments, as well as individuals at sales offices, stores, and showrooms. The role requires a proactive approach to sales, including the ability to inspect residential and commercial roofs, teach others the proper installation of roofing materials, and conduct meetings to present products and services effectively. The Territory Sales Manager will also be responsible for writing reports and various types of correspondence, ensuring that all communications are clear and professional. In this position, the successful candidate will plan, organize, direct, control, and coordinate activities and services to ensure customer satisfaction. This includes compiling lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, utilizing various sources such as newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, and the Internet. The Territory Sales Manager will travel throughout the assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders, display and demonstrate products using samples and catalogs, and emphasize the salable features of the products offered. The role also involves quoting prices and credit terms, preparing sales contracts for orders obtained, and estimating delivery dates based on knowledge of production and delivery schedules. The Territory Sales Manager will prepare reports of business transactions and maintain expense accounts, work closely with inside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date, and coordinate customer training. Building and maintaining relationships with purchasing contacts is crucial, as is investigating and resolving customer problems with deliveries. Other duties may be assigned as necessary to support the sales team and enhance customer satisfaction.
