About the position

The Territory Sales Manager at Pentair is responsible for managing and growing the company's business in the southern California and Nevada territory. This role involves selling Pentair's water supply and disposal pump solutions primarily through authorized distributors and professional dealers. The position requires building and nurturing relationships with key channel partners, executing sales strategies, and providing technical support and training to enhance product awareness and sales performance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow assigned Pentair business by identifying and nurturing new and existing key relationships with local communities of well drillers, plumbers, irrigation specialists, and other key channel partners.
  • Execute distribution and dealer sales strategies that increase top line revenue and improve return on sales for the water supply, water disposal, and agriculture/irrigation segments.
  • Build relationships with key distributor partners and influence sales of Pentair products and services through technical presentations and training seminars.
  • Develop a strong technical understanding of Pentair products to address customer needs and promote brand awareness among distributor partners.
  • Analyze customer specifications to determine proper product applications and provide expertise to recommend solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) preferred.
  • 2+ years of professional experience in outside sales, managing a territory.
  • Experience working with indirect sales environments, especially with channel partners and/or distribution networks preferred.
  • Advanced ability to work in a 2-step distribution model, especially with dealers, installers, and/or contractors.
  • Experience working with products in the water, fluid handling, and/or plumbing industries is a plus.
  • Ability to effectively utilize customer relationship management (CRM) software for lead generation and documentation.
  • Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
