About the position

As a Territory Sales Manager at Briggs & Stratton, you will be responsible for managing and expanding the profitable sale of a diverse range of Allmand products through consultative selling techniques to customers within your assigned territory. This role requires you to effectively manage customer expectations, utilizing your conflict resolution skills to secure customer orders while ensuring that all applicable company programs are communicated, implemented, and executed effectively. Your primary focus will be on building and maintaining strong business partnerships with both new and existing customers, ensuring a high level of service and communication through a consistent call cycle that includes both phone contact and personal visits. In this position, you will be tasked with recruiting new customers based on market potential and aligning with the company's strategic objectives. You will interface with management and support personnel to ensure open communication and customer support, which is essential for achieving both territory and company goals. You will also be responsible for meeting territory goals and objectives as outlined in your business plan, which you will maintain and revise as necessary. Additionally, you will control and reduce selling costs through efficient customer ranking, routing, planning, and expense control. Your role will involve reviewing and analyzing sales and marketing data to promote sales, identify customer needs, and provide forecasting information. You will communicate trends and opportunities to enhance sales performance. Furthermore, you will promote customer commitments through advertising, planning, and implementing group ad campaigns, as well as encouraging individual customer advertising and sound merchandising practices. Other duties may be assigned as necessary, requiring flexibility and adaptability in your approach to work.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and expand the profitable sale of Allmand products through consultative selling.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a sales or customer service environment.
  • Solid knowledge of the equipment industry and green energy standards and solutions.
  • Ability to effectively manage a large territory strategically.
  • Ability to analyze sales trends to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills to work with diverse groups.
  • Solid computer skills, including understanding of sales software systems, word processing, and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to work independently with strong organizational skills.
  • Desire to continuously improve through training.
  • Ability to manage business schedule and territory travel effectively.
  • Fluency in English and the primary language used in the area of responsibility.
