About the position

The Sales Manager is a pivotal role within our organization, responsible for developing and maintaining customer accounts while driving sales growth. This position requires a proactive approach to customer engagement, where the Sales Manager will confer with customers and representatives from associated industries to evaluate and promote improved sales strategies. The role involves a thorough review of the operations of competing organizations, allowing the Sales Manager to plan and direct sales programs that support or develop new markets effectively. In addition to customer engagement, the Sales Manager will be tasked with developing new customer accounts and maintaining existing ones. This includes providing exceptional customer service and communication, coordinating sales efforts with operations personnel, and ensuring that all sales data is accurately reported and analyzed. The Sales Manager will also be responsible for maintaining, reviewing, and revising costs, passing on price adjustments to customers, and establishing sales reporting mechanisms as needed. The role requires a collaborative approach, working closely with management to improve sales and service offerings. The Sales Manager will provide analysis and planning to maintain and develop a competitive position in the market. Administrative functions related to sales will also fall under the purview of this role, alongside adherence to company data processing procedures and safety policies. Customer satisfaction is paramount, and the Sales Manager will assist Distribution Centers (DCs) with training and operations as needed. Additionally, the Sales Manager will be expected to develop an Individual Development Plan (IDP) annually and meet all training targets as outlined by corporate goals. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Confers with customers and representatives of associated industries to evaluate and promote improved and expanded sales in area.
  • Reviews operations of competing organizations and plans and directs sales program to support or develop new markets.
  • Develop new and maintain existing customer accounts.
  • Provide customer service and communication.
  • Coordinate sales with operations.
  • Maintains, reviews and revises costs.
  • Pass on price adjustments to all customers.
  • Establish and monitor sales reporting as needed.
  • Increase sales for installation and service.
  • Works with management to improve sales and service.
  • Provide analysis and planning to maintain and develop competitive position.
  • Perform or supervise all sales administrative functions.
  • Understand and practice company data processing procedures.
  • Maintain and practice company safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Assist DC's with training and operations where needed.
  • Assist in the development of an annual Individual Development Plan (IDP) and meet all training targets as spelled out in the IDP and by corporate goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • College education or related skills
  • 2 - 3 years sales experience
  • Valid driver's license
  • Clear and effective written and oral communication skills
  • Organizational, time management and analytical skills
