About the position

As a Territory Sales Manager at Alside, you will play a pivotal role in driving sales growth and developing relationships with target accounts within your designated territory. Since its founding in 1947, Alside has established itself as a leading distributor of exterior building products for both residential and commercial markets. The company is currently undergoing a transformation aimed at maximizing its potential through strategic investments in people, operations, and brands. This position is ideal for a sales professional who thrives on customer interaction and relationship building, and who prefers to be home in the evenings. In this role, you will be responsible for leading all sales efforts, including account planning, forecasting, and reporting for your assigned accounts. You will need to understand and anticipate customer objectives and requirements to identify and pursue new sales opportunities. A key aspect of your responsibilities will involve acquiring new customers to maximize revenue for the supply center. You will also provide exceptional customer service, ensuring that any escalated issues are resolved promptly and effectively. Your success will depend on your ability to bring core product knowledge to customers, understand building codes, and read blueprints to accurately demo products. You will be expected to negotiate market value pricing and act as a mentor to other sales representatives. This position requires a self-directed, highly organized, and detail-oriented individual who is competitive and customer-focused. With a travel requirement of 70% within the region, you will have the opportunity to engage with clients directly and make a significant impact on the company's growth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain target accounts while driving sales growth within a specific territory.
  • Lead all sales and account planning, forecasting, and reporting efforts for assigned accounts.
  • Understand and anticipate customers' objectives and requirements to identify and pursue sales opportunities.
  • Acquire new customers to maximize supply center revenue.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and follow up on escalated customer service issues.
  • Work closely with supply center and corporate resources to ensure order fulfillment.
  • Act as a mentor for other sales representatives.
  • Demonstrate core product specifications and applications to customers.
  • Negotiate market value pricing for the assigned territory.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of outside sales experience with a successful sales history.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • A vehicle that meets the vehicle reimbursement program requirements.
  • Experience with CRM systems is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for daily tasks.
  • Self-directed, highly organized, customer-focused, detail-oriented, and competitive.
  • Proven experience in new business selling and upselling.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience within the building materials industry is highly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience with Salesforce is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of core building material products, specifically windows and siding, for both single and multi-family applications.
  • Experience working with builders and architects to create larger ticket sales.
