About the position

At Permobil, we are seeking a Territory Sales Manager who will play a crucial role in managing and growing our assigned territory, which includes the ideal locations of Los Angeles, the Inland Empire region, and San Diego, CA. This position is pivotal in promoting, selling, and supporting our complex rehab and assistive technology products. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a significant business and financial impact through strategic sales execution and customer relationship management. The Territory Sales Manager will develop and implement a robust sales strategy that aligns with the company's goals, driving significant business impact. This involves building and maintaining strong relationships with both internal teams and external clients, understanding client needs, and proposing tailored solutions to create demand. The role also includes overseeing demo inventory at various referral and customer locations, ensuring the availability and optimal allocation of demo units to support sales objectives while managing related expenses effectively. In addition to sales execution, the Territory Sales Manager will continuously analyze sales trends within the territory, providing regular reports and planning sales activities based on these insights to meet or exceed sales targets. Maintaining regular contact with existing clients to strengthen relationships and ensure satisfaction with our products and services is essential, as is identifying and engaging with potential customers to convert them from competitors to Permobil customers. The role requires staying abreast of industry developments and leveraging this knowledge in sales strategies and tactics. The successful candidate will also ensure thorough knowledge and application of company policies and procedures, represent the company at trade shows and meetings, and ensure all administrative tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a robust sales strategy aligned with company goals.
  • Build, develop, and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external clients.
  • Oversee demo inventory at various referral and customer locations within the territory.
  • Continuously analyze sales trends within the territory and provide regular reports.
  • Maintain regular contact with existing clients to strengthen relationships and ensure satisfaction.
  • Identify and engage with potential customers to convert them from competitors.
  • Stay abreast of industry developments, products, technologies, and competitive activities.
  • Ensure thorough knowledge and application of company policies and procedures.
  • Represent the company at trade shows and meetings as required.
  • Utilize approved sales collateral for promotional needs and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Complete all administrative tasks accurately and in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business, Technical Discipline, or a related area is preferred.
  • Prior experience in the medical device field, preferably in complex rehab/assistive technology.
  • Strong analytical skills with an emphasis on data analysis, evaluation, and problem-solving.
  • Deep understanding of customer needs to influence and guide strategic decisions.
  • Experience in conducting multiple referral calls daily.
  • Proven skills in business planning, consulting, and territory financial analysis.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and consultative sales skills.
  • Ability to make informed decisions within established guidelines.
  • Minimum of 3 years of field sales experience, or at least 1 year in the complex rehab/assistive technology industry.

Nice-to-haves

  • ATP, OT, or PT license is an advantage.
  • Prior experience in sales management, market development, marketing, training, or technical services is beneficial.
