About the position

The Territory Sales Manager role at Midland Garage Door involves managing a newly established sales territory that includes parts of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Northern Illinois. The position focuses on building relationships with existing customers and expanding the customer base through effective sales strategies. The role requires significant travel, as the manager will be the frontline contact for customers, ensuring high-quality service and support while promoting the company's products.

Responsibilities

  • Execute sales efforts in an ethical and professional manner, assuring a favorable impression of self and the company.
  • Close and grow sales through professional communication with existing and prospective customers.
  • Identify opportunities for conversions and take orders.
  • Create, implement, maintain, and execute a territory plan that leads to sales growth in line with sales goals and company profitability expectations.
  • Effectively present products and services, overcoming barriers to close sales by clearly communicating features, benefits, and value.
  • Manage and interpret customer requirements, speaking with customers to understand, anticipate, and meet their needs.
  • Assist customers with problem solving, product selection, and pricing, as well as any point-of-sale materials.
  • Introduce and demonstrate new products and services to existing and prospective customers.
  • Present and educate an audience of customers, contractors, architects, and buying influencers.
  • Attend customer functions including trade shows, contractor events, and Parade homes.
  • Identify and resolve customer concerns, recommending a course of action to alleviate these concerns in the future.
  • Assist with warranties as required.
  • Manage the territory account list, determining the frequency of visits to accounts.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry and competitor products, reporting on competitor strategies, products, and trends.
  • Maintain a professional image and work environment, including the vehicle used for travel.
  • Coordinate with the Accounts Receivable department to ensure timely payment of invoices by customers.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of relevant sales and related industry experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and meet auto insurance requirements.
