As a Territory Sales Manager at Midland Garage Door, you will play a crucial role in driving sales and building relationships with our valued customers across a newly established territory that includes parts of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Northern Illinois. In this role, you will be the frontline contact for our customers, utilizing a company-provided vehicle to travel extensively within your territory. The position requires a flexible schedule, with approximately 80% of your time spent traveling overnight. When not on the road, you will work from our office located in Eden Prairie, MN. Your responsibilities will include executing sales efforts in an ethical and professional manner, closing sales through effective communication, and identifying opportunities for conversions. You will also be responsible for creating and implementing a territory plan that aligns with our sales goals and profitability expectations. Your ability to effectively present our products and services, manage customer requirements, and assist with problem-solving will be key to your success. You will introduce and demonstrate new products to both existing and prospective customers, attend various customer functions, and maintain a professional image of yourself and your work environment. Additionally, you will coordinate with the Accounts Receivable department to ensure timely payment of invoices by your customers. Responsibilities

  • Execute sales efforts in an ethical and professional manner, assuring a favorable impression of self and the company.
  • Close and grow sales through professional communication with existing and prospective customers.
  • Identify opportunities for conversions and take orders.
  • Create, implement, maintain, and execute a territory plan that leads to sales growth in line with sales goals and company profitability expectations.
  • Effectively present our products and services and overcome barriers to close the sale by clearly communicating the features, benefits, and value of our products, services, and company.
  • Manage and interpret customer requirements by speaking with customers to understand, anticipate, and meet their needs.
  • Assist customers with problem solving, product selection, and pricing, as well as any point-of-sale materials.
  • Introduce and demonstrate new products and services to existing and prospective customers.
  • Present and educate an audience of customers, contractors, architects, and buying influencers.
  • Attend customer functions including trades shows, contractor events, and Parade homes.
  • Identify and resolve customer concerns and recommend a course of action to alleviate these concerns in the future.
  • Assist with warranties as required.
  • Manage the territory account list including determining what accounts to visit and how frequently.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry and competitor products, and report on competitor strategies, products, and trends.
  • Maintain a professional image of self and a professional work environment including vehicle.
  • Coordinate with the Accounts Receivable department to ensure all invoices are paid in a timely manner by customers.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of relevant sales and related industry experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and an MVR that qualifies per the auto insurance requirement.
