About the position

The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for building and nurturing strong customer relationships within a designated region. This role is pivotal in designing and implementing strategies aimed at increasing regional revenue through consumer research, which helps in maximizing potential revenues and securing customer loyalty. The Territory Sales Manager will spend a significant portion of their time, approximately 80%, on recruiting new agents while dedicating the remaining 20% to the development of existing agents within their assigned territory. This allocation may vary depending on the specific needs of the territory. In this position, the Territory Sales Manager will manage the entire sales process, which includes identifying prospects, conducting cold calls, engaging in face-to-face meetings, demonstrating products and services, and vetting potential agents. A critical aspect of the role involves actively managing the sign-up, setup, and training of agents on the company's money remittance platform and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The manager will also provide agents with standard merchandising and point-of-sale materials to support their sales efforts. Regular interaction with agency decision-makers and personnel is essential to train them, monitor product and consumer dynamics, and develop strong relationships that foster long-term loyalty to the company. The Territory Sales Manager will be responsible for making data-driven recommendations regarding product pricing and commission structures. Additionally, they will execute both self-conceived and assigned marketing plans to support transaction growth, analyze market data and company reports to address performance trends, and capitalize on market opportunities. Collaboration with various departments at headquarters is necessary to ensure agents comply with company policies and procedures, and the manager will also be tasked with securing and forwarding competitive intelligence to senior management.

Responsibilities

  • Spend a majority of the time (80%) recruiting new agents and (20%) developing existing ones within assigned territory.
  • Manage the entire sales process from identifying prospects, cold calling, face-to-face meetings, product/service demonstration to the vetting process of a potential agent.
  • Actively and successfully manage the sign-up, setup, and training of an agent in our money remittance platform and compliance.
  • Provide new and existing agents with standard merchandising and POS material.
  • Regularly call on agency decision-makers and personnel to train, monitor product/consumer dynamics and develop strong relationships with agents to ensure long-term loyalty to the company.
  • Make fact-based recommendations on product pricing and commission.
  • Execute both self-conceived and assigned marketing plans to support transaction growth.
  • Analyze market data and company reports to address, reinforce, or correct market and/or agency performance trends and capitalize on market opportunities.
  • Support various departments at headquarters to ensure that agents comply with policies and procedures.
  • Secure and forward marketplace/competitive reconnaissance to senior management.

Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree or 2-3 years of successful outside sales experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience in outside sales, business development, and account management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and English.
  • Experience in cold calling, product demonstration, and selling products or services.
  • Ability to travel within assigned territory daily and possess a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work well under no supervision, self-motivated, and proficient in time management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preference will be given to candidates with prior money transfer or money service business experience.
