About the position

The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for managing sales, distribution, and promotion of specific products within the assigned territory, which includes Maryland, Virginia, Western Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. The primary objective is to meet or exceed sales volume and product quotas while maintaining cost efficiency. This role involves direct communication with key customers, reporting field activities, and supporting distribution through effective sales strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in developing territorial sales and forecast data
  • Communicate directly with key customers as per the daily call schedule to inform them of trends, special promotions, new products, and product improvements
  • Actively work with targeted end users and distribution, working independently
  • Report all essential field activity to Regional Sales Manager and Senior VP of Sales through Salesforce.com and monthly field activity reports
  • Report changes in respective territory competitive promotions and activity
  • Support distribution through constructive sales meetings and calls on end users
  • Maintain business-related expenses efficiently as directed by the Regional Sales Manager
  • Conduct business reviews with distributors and/or clients to assess trends in customer purchases
  • Use the company's information technology system for sales reports and timely correspondence
  • Participate in trade shows as assigned by the Regional Sales Manager
  • Structure and maintain the company's strategic partner sales strategy
  • Provide prompt follow-up and execution of user lead generation program

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field or equivalent experience
  • 3 - 5 years of sales experience
  • Industrial or product background preferred
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to travel 65% of the time to assigned sales territories
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
