About the position

NELCO Worldwide is seeking a Territory Sales Manager who will be primarily responsible for achieving and exceeding sales growth targets in the Southeastern United States, specifically from Kentucky to Florida. This role involves identifying and qualifying sales opportunities, responding to inquiries, developing and delivering proposals, and successfully closing sales in the radiation therapy and industrial markets. The Territory Sales Manager will work closely with potential and existing customers, including construction and product distributors, industrial manufacturers, medical equipment manufacturers, and regional construction managers. The position requires a strong understanding of sales principles and practices, particularly in direct and phone sales, and the ability to tailor sales calls to meet customer needs effectively. The Territory Sales Manager will also be responsible for driving market growth through lead development, account prospecting, and solicitation of new material and installation bids. Establishing and nurturing account relationships is crucial for ensuring long-term partnerships. The role requires a high comfort level with direct sales and cold calls, both over the phone and in person. The successful candidate will compile potential customer lists, represent NELCO products in face-to-face interactions, prepare and finalize sales agreements, and represent the company at technical meetings, trade shows, and product knowledge presentations. Additionally, the Territory Sales Manager will develop relationships with key influencers, including medical equipment manufacturers, contractors, architectural firms, and consulting physicist groups.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve and exceed sales growth targets in the Southeastern United States.
  • Identify and qualify sales opportunities in radiation therapy and industrial markets.
  • Respond to inquiries and develop proposals for potential customers.
  • Close sales effectively and maintain relationships with existing customers.
  • Drive market growth through lead development and account prospecting.
  • Establish and nurture long-term account relationships.
  • Demonstrate comfort with direct sales and cold calls, both in person and over the phone.
  • Compile potential customer lists for targeted outreach.
  • Represent NELCO products in face-to-face interactions with customers.
  • Prepare and finalize sales agreements to secure deals.
  • Represent NELCO at technical meetings, trade shows, and presentations.
  • Develop relationships with key influencers in the medical and construction industries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or associate degree, preferably in business, construction, or shielding industry.
  • Experience in medical imaging, radiation shielding, or oncology strongly preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of basic sales principles and practices, with expertise in direct and phone sales.
  • Ability to assess and tailor sales calls to meet customer needs quickly.
  • Fundamental understanding of architectural processes and sales and marketing strategies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for establishing and maintaining key accounts.
  • Adept at reading blueprints and estimates.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for crafting sales presentations.
  • Skill in developing qualified contacts and effective follow-up after presentations.
  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office applications and CRM systems.
  • Experience with prospecting, cold call tactics, and territory business plans.
  • Solid knowledge of the construction and construction distribution business is a plus.
  • Technical skills sufficient to educate clients on NELCO products and services.
  • Flexibility to travel up to 50% of the time.
