The Territory Sales Manager at Alamo Group Texas LLC is responsible for managing, directing, and coordinating efforts to maximize sales and services for Alamo Group (TX) Inc. equipment within an assigned geographical area. This role is crucial in achieving annual measurable growth within the territory as set by the company. The territory includes the states of Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. The position requires conducting dealer education training and controlling inventory receivables within the territory, serving as a vital link in the communication process between the company and its dealers. The essential functions of the job include creating and maintaining sales volumes relative to the potential for sales within the specific geographical area, meeting sales quotas assigned to the territory, and preparing and submitting sales forecasts as requested for planning and controlling dealer inventories. The Territory Sales Manager promotes Alamo Group (TX) Inc. products by assisting dealers with retail sales calls, demonstrating new products, and addressing service-related problems to enhance sales and service. This role also involves making physical calls to dealers, end users, and all municipal/state/federal accounts, requiring experience with municipal sales and knowledge of state and government contracts. In terms of dealer relations, the Territory Sales Manager establishes new dealers and maintains a dealer organization that maximizes sales results. Acting as a liaison between the company and the dealer organization, the manager ensures that proper information is provided regarding product, pricing, accounting, credit, warranty, and other business activities. The role also includes responsibilities for collections, where the manager calls on dealers for sales, collection of receivables, resolving disputes, and monitoring unpaid inventory. Timely collection of accounts receivables is essential to prevent occurrences of past due accounts, dealer defaults, and bad debts from uncollectible accounts. The position requires good human relation skills, the ability to work under pressure, and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. The Territory Sales Manager must also possess a solid understanding of production processes, maintenance, and equipment operation, along with basic computer skills (Word, Excel, and ACT). A valid DOT certification to drive a truck and trailer is also required. The role demands a proactive approach to managing problems as they arise within established guidelines, and the ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays as required.
