The Territory Sales Manager position is a critical role within our consumer products client’s sales organization, based in Memphis. This position is designed for an individual who is passionate about sales and has a strong desire to train and support retailers in a key region. The successful candidate will represent a diverse portfolio of products to small and medium multi-location retail customers, ensuring that they are well-informed and equipped to sell these products effectively. This role is not just about selling; it involves building and maintaining productive relationships with key decision-makers at each retail location, which is essential for long-term success. In this position, you will be responsible for various functions including sales, profit management, expense control, marketing initiatives, and merchandising strategies for your assigned customers. You will lead the customer account planning cycle, developing both short-term and long-term strategic plans aimed at achieving predetermined sales goals. This requires a proactive approach to understanding customer needs and expectations, ensuring that they are consistently met or exceeded. Additionally, you will coordinate with customers and field sales associates to implement effective training programs for the relevant employees at the retail locations. Regular evaluation of customer performance will be a key part of your responsibilities, allowing you to develop strategies that sustain successes and address any deficiencies.
