About the position

The Business Development Manager at GardaWorld is a pivotal role responsible for driving profitable business growth in security services within a designated geographical area, specifically in Union, New Jersey. This position requires a strategic approach to marketing and sales methodologies to identify and secure new business opportunities. The successful candidate will engage with clients and prospects to assess their satisfaction with services and to uncover additional business opportunities that align with sales goals. The role demands a strong understanding of financial reports and the ability to establish credibility with both internal and external stakeholders through honesty, consistency, and dependability. In this role, the Business Development Manager will be tasked with identifying potential clients and developing comprehensive sales strategies from inception to completion. This includes analyzing local and expansion markets to pinpoint sales opportunities, prospective companies, and key decision-makers. The manager will also be responsible for developing pricing strategies, preparing proposals, responding to RFPs, and delivering compelling sales presentations. Collaboration with local management and Regional Vice Presidents is essential to plan, conduct, and follow up on sales opportunities effectively. Additionally, the Business Development Manager will follow up on referrals and self-generated leads to understand buyer influences and timing issues, preparing reports on the status of leads and other necessary documentation. The role also involves planning and organizing activities that enhance the GardaWorld brand in the assigned market, as well as negotiating terms of sales, contract wording, and implementation timelines. This position offers a competitive salary of $90,000 plus unlimited commissions, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, and a 401(k) with company matching.

Responsibilities

  • Identify prospects and develop sales strategies from start to finish securing new business
  • Analyze local & expansion markets to identify sales opportunities, prospective companies and associated buyers
  • Develop pricing and business development strategies
  • Prepare proposals, RFP responses, and sales presentations
  • Work with local management and Regional Vice Presidents to plan, conduct, and follow up on sales opportunities
  • Follow-up on referrals and self-generated leads to identify buyer influences and any timing issues; prepare reports on status of leads and other reports as required
  • Plan and organize activities that build our brand in assigned market
  • Negotiate terms of sales, contract wording, timing of implementation, etc.

Requirements

  • A college degree in business or related field
  • Minimum 3 years business development experience; 5 years preferred
  • Ability to understand financial reports
  • Establish personal credibility with internal and external clients by being honest, forthright, consistent and dependable
