About the position

The position involves managing the development and execution of sales, marketing, and business development activities for a portion of the team under the Regional Sales Director, Health Systems Solutions. The role focuses on exceeding revenue and gross margin objectives by identifying growth opportunities within local practices, hospitals, and health systems, while directing the activities of Account Executives and Care Transition Specialists. The position emphasizes account management, business development, and collaboration with operations to ensure high-quality service and ongoing growth.

Responsibilities

  • Drive sales with the assigned team by partnering with operations to build market growth plans.
  • Work across business units to set goals and develop sales forecasts for each assigned territory.
  • Partner with operations and payer counterparts to build regional strategic market plans to increase market penetration.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of promotional activities.
  • Engage cross-functionally to ensure alignment of sales efforts with branches and personnel.
  • Develop Account Executives to create and deliver sales presentations and lead consultative sales discussions.
  • Lead by example in creating new business within the assigned area.
  • Develop a productive account team by engaging in selling opportunities and providing feedback.
  • Maintain strong relationships with branch management to support sales efforts.
  • Monitor competitors and industry trends to develop sales plans accordingly.
  • Analyze input from various sources to create new initiatives.
  • Develop business plans for new initiatives addressing market entry strategy and financial analysis.
  • Monitor activity for the assigned sales team to ensure focus on priority growth targets.
  • Help team members prioritize time to focus on growth opportunities.
  • Provide productivity analysis and feedback to the sales team.
  • Identify and provide training and development opportunities.
  • Serve as an expert in local market dynamics and complex disease states.
  • Responsible for staffing, managing sales performance, and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.
  • Identify opportunities and develop relationships with alliance partners to increase business.
  • Comply with accreditation, legal, regulatory, and safety requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a clinical field, or high school diploma with 5 years of related sales experience.
  • 1-2 years of previous business-to-business healthcare/medical related sales leadership experience.
  • Experience in analyzing and reporting sales data to identify trends and drive improvement.
  • Experience using and teaching time management skills for project management.
  • Experience developing and delivering presentations to various stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA in Business Administration with at least 4 years of pharmaceutical or healthcare sales experience.
  • Prior experience selling strategic solutions to hospitals and health systems.
  • Infusion/health care service experience in therapeutic areas such as anti-infective, nutrition, immunology, oncology, or transplant.
  • Basic understanding of billing and reimbursement procedures for hospitals and medical offices.
  • One year of experience directly managing people in a sales context.
