About the position

The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for driving growth in the construction materials sector across assigned regions. This role involves strategic thinking, opportunity prospecting, customer management, and tactical execution to meet sales goals. Reporting to the Director of Sales, the manager will collaborate with independent sales representatives and work on developing market-specific strategies to enhance business performance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop market specific sales strategies and goals with Independent Sales reps and independently in markets without representation.
  • Hunt for opportunities using contacts, social media, online resources, and Independent Reps; document and manage through CRM.
  • Develop and manage strategic and tactical partnerships with Independent Sales reps.
  • Build plans to participate in trade events.
  • Build, maintain, and leverage strategic customer relationships through meetings, site visits, and sponsorships.
  • Collaborate with estimating staff to understand scope of work and support bid development.
  • Develop bids, review/approve with CFO, and manage follow-on communication to secure orders.

Requirements

  • 2-3+ years experience in sales.
  • Prior experience in construction, architecture, engineering, materials, or metal sales preferred.
  • Ability to read schematics and understand custom projects.
  • Proven experience in sales functions with a goal-oriented approach.
  • In-depth understanding of construction procedures, materials, and project management principles.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office & Excel; knowledge of AutoCAD & ERP systems is a plus.
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

  • Experience with project management tools.
