About the position

Cameron Ashley Building Products is seeking a Territory Sales Manager to drive field-sales growth across a designated geographical area. This role is pivotal in leveraging industry and product knowledge to enhance the company's value proposition within strategically aligned customer bases. The Territory Sales Manager (TSM) will proactively engage with existing, new, and target customers to expand the company's sales footprint and foster strong relationships. The TSM will be responsible for developing and executing strategic growth strategies that enhance customer account management. This includes utilizing product knowledge and market awareness to effectively represent the company's diverse range of products and services. The role requires collaboration with the Distribution Center Manager and Inside Sales Representatives to implement key account penetration strategies aimed at growing existing customer business and targeting new opportunities. In addition to relationship management, the TSM will provide timely quotes, handle price objections, and prepare bids while keeping customers informed about product and pricing updates. The position also involves delivering sales and educational presentations to both internal and external customers, as well as recording, analyzing, and forecasting account information to identify effective sales strategies and objectives. Responsibilities

  • Proactively engage with new, existing, and potential customers to establish effective sales relationships.
  • Develop and drive strategic growth strategies to manage customer account relationships.
  • Utilize product knowledge and market awareness to represent the company's products and services effectively.
  • Develop the assigned geographical area by leveraging strategic contacts and targeting new opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Distribution Center Manager and Inside Sales Representatives to execute key account penetration strategies.
  • Provide timely quotes and sell customers on the company's value-add and service.
  • Handle price objections, negotiations, and prepare bids for customers.
  • Keep customers updated on product and pricing information.
  • Develop and deliver sales and educational presentations to internal and external customers.
  • Record, analyze, report, and forecast account information to identify sales strategies and objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Outside sales experience is a must; building products experience is preferred.
  • Ability to understand key aspects of selling on value rather than price.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a dynamic and evolving sales cycle.
  • Self-directed approach to studying new products, literature, promotions, and trade publications.
  • Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass drug test and background verifications.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
