About the position

The Territory Sales and Service Manager at Power Distributors, LLC is responsible for selling products and services to independent lawn and garden dealers, rental accounts, and retail accounts across a multi-county area in Eastern Minnesota, Western Wisconsin, and Northeast Iowa. This role involves developing sales leads, making presentations, and achieving sales goals while maintaining relationships with current customers.

Responsibilities

  • Contact and develop sales leads within a protected geographic territory.
  • Close sales and maintain servicing of current customers.
  • Research markets and identify primary decision makers.
  • Make sales presentations to current and prospective customers.
  • Meet monthly with the Regional Manager to review sales progress and initiatives.
  • Utilize customer relationship management software for sales campaigns.
  • Interface daily with the Inside Sales department regarding prospective customers.
  • Establish contact with sales prospects and maintain a lead pipeline.
  • Fulfill expected customer contacts at a rate of 6+ appointments per day.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in outside sales covering a multi-county territory.
  • Mechanical background in tangible products, especially lawn and garden equipment.
  • Dealer development and management experience.
  • Ability to demonstrate outdoor power equipment.
  • Experience in prospecting cold and warm leads.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer literate with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, and CRM (SalesLogix).
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Clean driving record and ability to tow a trailer with demo products.
  • Ability to navigate safely in the assigned territory.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years of sales experience in lawn and garden or related industry.
  • Exemplary verbal skills and a team player attitude.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task and work within deadlines.
  • Proven record in lawn and garden, marine, or small engine sales.
