About the position

The Territory Sales Manager at SPT Labtech is responsible for driving sales success in the South San Francisco region, focusing on liquid handling and sample management products. This role requires a proactive and organized individual with a strong background in Life Sciences and lab automation. The position involves collaboration with various teams to promote products, manage customer relationships, and achieve sales objectives while contributing to the company's mission of enhancing scientific research.

Responsibilities

  • Promotion, market development and sales of SPT Labtech's liquid handling and sample management product lines into the genomics, protein crystallization, and drug discovery markets.
  • Managing every pre-sale activity until purchase order and supporting post-sales activities.
  • Working independently and collaborating closely with sales specialists, support, product management, and marketing teams.
  • Scheduling and conducting product presentations and demonstrations to customers.
  • Effectively managing the customer database and proposing a global strategy based on quantifiable objectives.
  • Organizing work time according to defined priorities to achieve personal and company goals.
  • Implementing company priorities regarding products and strategy in the covered markets.
  • Developing and following up on all opportunities while balancing different product lines and managing sales collaboration with product specialists.
  • Building a consultative relationship with customers and becoming a trusted advisor through a structured commercial approach.
  • Positioning SPT solutions in relation to end-user workflows and explaining the benefits of proposed solutions using various communication tools.
  • Maintaining optimal application knowledge with support functions and training.
  • Managing CRM data effectively.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in a capital equipment sales role in the Life Sciences Market, particularly with automated liquid handling technologies.
  • An undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification in a Life Science discipline; background in Genomics or Protein Crystallography is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, preferably Salesforce.
  • Proven success in business development and sales.
  • Ability to conduct presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
