About the position

TruGreen is seeking a Territory Sales Rep Lead to join our dynamic team in Oscoda, Michigan. This position is pivotal in driving our residential lawn care services through direct sales efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for selling our services to both new and existing customers, primarily through door-to-door interactions. This role not only focuses on sales but also includes training and mentoring other sales representatives, ensuring they meet their sales goals and develop their skills effectively. The Territory Sales Rep Lead will be expected to meet or exceed the minimum sales requirements set for the Field Sales Lead role, contributing to the overall success of the branch. In this position, you will conduct thorough lawn analyses, advising customers on issues related to their lawns and landscapes, and determining the best solutions tailored to their needs. You will be responsible for pricing services based on measurements and calculations, ensuring that customers receive accurate quotes. The role requires a proactive approach to follow up on leads and maintain strong customer relationships, which is essential for closing sales and achieving weekly sales goals. Additionally, you will assist the Branch Sales Manager with sales reporting and scheduling, providing valuable insights into customer needs and market trends. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, enabling them to build rapport with diverse groups of people. You will be expected to demonstrate a customer-centric approach, consistently achieving results even in challenging circumstances. As a leader, you will develop talent within your team, helping them to reach their career goals while aligning with the organization's objectives. This role requires a valid driver's license and the ability to travel locally on a regular basis, as you will be using your personal vehicle for sales activities.

Responsibilities

  • Sells residential lawn care services to new and existing customers in-person through door-to-door selling efforts via personal vehicle.
  • Conducts lawn analysis, advises customers of problems with lawn and landscape and determines appropriate solution.
  • Determines pricing by measuring and calculating square footage to branch price list.
  • Sells residential lawn care services tailored to the needs of customers, including weed control, fertilization, and insect control, as well as specialized services, to achieve weekly sales goals.
  • Estimates date of service to customer based on knowledge of branch production and service schedules.
  • Conducts follow-up of leads through means of person-to-person contact to identify customer needs.
  • Quotes prices, negotiates with customer, and closes the sale.
  • Assists with on-the-job training of new or developing sales representatives.
  • Coaches and mentors Residential Sales Representative I and II associates.
  • Provides support to Branch Sales Manager with sales reporting, scheduling and leads.
  • Meets Key Performance Indicators for role (ex. minimum required sales per week).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Two (2) to three (3) years' experience in outside sales required; 1 or more years' senior level or sales lead experience preferred.
  • Certifications as required by federal, state or local law.
  • Valid, permanent driver's license from state of residence and a clean driving record defined as no DUI-related violations within the past five years and no more than three moving violations within the past three years.
  • Horticulture Certification Completion.
  • Mosquito/Pest Control Certification Completion.
