About the position

Ditch Witch of the Carolinas is seeking a dedicated and motivated Territory Sales Representative to join our team in Charlotte, NC. As an industry leader in the sales and service of underground utility and construction equipment, we have been serving the Carolinas since 1974. Our headquarters in Charlotte, along with three full-service branches in South Carolina, allows us to provide a comprehensive range of products and services to our customers. The construction industry is currently experiencing significant growth, and our expanded product line has created new markets and opportunities for sales professionals. In this role, you will be responsible for demonstrating and selling our full compact line of equipment, which includes brands such as Ditch Witch, Morbark, Rayco, Hammerhead, and Subsite Electronics, along with various attachments. You will be tasked with planning and executing effective sales strategies, facilitating the sales process from prospecting to closing deals, and ensuring customer satisfaction through hands-on demonstrations of our equipment on job sites within your assigned territory. This position requires some overnight travel, primarily in Western North Carolina, to meet with clients and showcase our products. We pride ourselves on our strong support system, which includes training specialists and a dedicated product support team. Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate and sell the full compact line of equipment including Ditch Witch, Morbark, Rayco, Hammerhead, and Subsite Electronics.
  • Plan and execute effective sales strategies to achieve sales targets.
  • Facilitate the sales process from prospecting to closing the sale.
  • Load, transport, operate, and demonstrate compact equipment on customer job sites.
  • Manage customer relationships and ensure satisfaction through effective communication and support.

Requirements

  • Previous sales experience in construction equipment sales or a related industry preferred.
  • Assertive and competitive mindset with a strong work ethic.
  • Self-starter with mechanical aptitude.
  • 5-year driving record deemed insurable by the insurance carrier.
  • Ability to qualify for D.O.T. and CDL licenses.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Email, and CRM systems.
  • College degree preferred.

  • Experience in outdoor sales environments.
  • Familiarity with the construction industry and equipment.
