About the position

The Territory Sales Representative position at Alta Equipment Group is a full-time role focused on driving sales and customer support within a designated territory. The representative will engage in business-to-business sales, utilizing a customer relationship management system to manage accounts and generate leads. This role is essential for achieving departmental business objectives through effective customer acquisition and retention strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Daily use of customer relationship management system.
  • Quoting and selling repairs, preventative maintenance, maintenance contracts, parts, and rentals.
  • Territory development with a focus on customer acquisition and retention.
  • Team with the Branch Manager to develop new accounts.
  • Collaborate with the sales department to generate leads for new equipment and aftermarket sales.
  • Incorporate Alta's Guiding Principles into daily activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Knowledge of forklifts and/or construction equipment is a plus.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of a personal computer and various software applications.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and automobile insurance.
  • Intermediate language skills for reading, writing, and speaking effectively.
  • Intermediate mathematical skills for calculations and applying basic algebra and geometry concepts.
  • High reasoning ability to solve practical problems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in sales within the equipment or construction industry.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet.
