About the position

The Territory Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales growth in assigned routes by establishing and maintaining relationships with customers and sales drivers. This role focuses on maximizing profitability through effective communication, customer service, and strategic sales planning.

Responsibilities

  • Drive to customer locations to promote and sell products.
  • Unload products, restock shelves, and rotate inventory at customer sites.
  • Load products into the truck and manage inventory counts.
  • Complete settle-up sheets and expense reports accurately.
  • Invoice customers and issue credits as necessary.
  • Collect payments from cash accounts or delinquent accounts.
  • Record mileage logs and maintain driving records in compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Fuel the truck and ensure it is submitted for scheduled maintenance.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with sales drivers and key customer decision-makers.
  • Communicate sales expectations and provide weekly updates to company drivers.
  • Identify leads and manage prospects to acquire new business.
  • Travel to customer facilities to provide information and support.
  • Grow business by anticipating customer needs and providing solutions.
  • Prepare tailored selling plans based on in-depth knowledge of retail customers and product portfolios.
  • Communicate regularly with the Division Sales Manager regarding sales activities and goals.
  • Conduct weekly customer visits to negotiate ads and increase product displays.
  • Attend grand openings and store anniversaries to build relationships.
  • Review Out-of-Stock reports to address deficiencies promptly.
  • Utilize effective time management skills to service stores and establish customer relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
  • 1+ years of experience in retail or field-based sales role.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and full coverage auto insurance with a clean MVR record.
  • Knowledge of basic computer functions including Microsoft Word and email.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain a professional demeanor.
