About the position

The Territory Sales Representative at AmeriGas is responsible for prospecting, qualifying, and closing new customers by selling propane solutions within a designated territory. This role focuses on building relationships with both new and existing commercial accounts, meeting and exceeding sales goals as defined by the Territory Sales Manager. The position requires a strategic understanding of the propane business and effective communication skills to present sales proposals and develop client accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Increases commercial revenue from new and existing customers.
  • Establishes strong relationships with prospective customers using various prospecting and business development techniques.
  • Develops and executes a sales plan for their specific geographic area to maintain effective sales call activity and increase productivity.
  • Prepares and presents sales proposals to current and prospective customers.
  • Focuses efforts on decision-makers in targeted client organizations to lead them to the AmeriGas solution.
  • Effectively schedules time to develop relationships with new clients and meet commitments to existing clients.
  • Protects AmeriGas from competitive threats by maintaining and sharing excellent competitive intelligence.
  • Targets customers and stays current on industry regulatory changes, working with the Territory Sales Manager and vendors to improve sales techniques.
  • Maintains working knowledge of applications and customer solutions.
  • Prepares complete and accurate paperwork based on corporate policy and procedures.

Requirements

  • College degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Demonstrated record of sales success and goal attainment.
  • Sales experience, preferably in commercial or industrial sales.
  • Valid Driver's license with the ability to travel within the local area.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the propane industry is preferred.
