About the position

The position is responsible for the scheduling, facilitation, administering, and scoring of the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) and the General Education Development (GED) Official Practice Test (OPT). The role includes maintaining all records associated with these tests and ensuring a high degree of discipline within the testing room. The individual will prepare adequately for the administration of the TABE and GED tests, review pre-test preparation and post-test results, and document student progress for inclusion on the ETA 640 Profile. Additionally, the position involves testing and diagnosing areas of difficulty, prescribing individual plans, designing instructional strategies to meet students' needs, and administering all TABE tests including initial, follow-ups, and exit and promotion tests. The role also requires providing adequate testing instruction to students and ensuring appropriate testing conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule, facilitate, administer, and score the TABE and GED Official Practice Test.
  • Maintain all records associated with the TABE and GED tests.
  • Ensure a high degree of discipline within the testing room.
  • Prepare adequately for the administration of the TABE and GED tests.
  • Review pre-test preparation and post-test results.
  • Document student progress for inclusion on the ETA 640 Profile.
  • Document and track student test results, next scheduled tests, and progress.
  • Test and diagnose areas of difficulty; prescribe individual plans.
  • Design instructional strategies to meet students' needs.
  • Help determine which test an individual should take when the student does not pass the entire GED test.
  • Administer all TABE tests including initial, follow-ups, and exit and promotion tests.
  • Provide adequate testing instruction to students.
  • Supervise long form testing.
  • Ensure appropriate lighting and low noise levels in the testing room.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
  • Knowledge of regulations, policies, and standards for the administration and scoring of educational development tests.
  • Ability to supervise and train employees, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
