About the position

The Test and Evaluation Engineer will play a crucial role in the design, development, and operational testing of the Common Weapon Launcher (CWL) and Multi-Tube Weapon Simulator (MTWS) systems for submarines. This position requires collaboration with the Navy and various engineering teams to ensure the successful delivery and functionality of these systems in both laboratory and submarine environments.

Responsibilities

• Crafting comprehensive test procedures.
• Proficiently utilizing electrical measurement tools, such as oscilloscopes and multimeters.
• Conducting Verification and Validation for corrective changes.
• Performing installations, rip-outs, testing, and validation of tactical systems.
• Assisting in configuring the lab in accordance with relevant drawings and port maps.
• Supporting informal and formal test events, as well as other customer-driven test activities.
• Identifying, analyzing, and documenting software, firmware, and hardware defects and collaborating with the engineering team to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Supporting the Logistics team in the development of installation and operation procedures.
• Employing a professional and confident approach when working with various engineering groups and external entities to define, document, analyze, conduct, and interpret tests.
• Identifying functional issues and proposing effective resolutions.
• Operating in a fast-paced, integrated product development team comprising professionals from multiple contracting organizations and DoD laboratory entities.
• Developing and analyzing test cases while providing regular progress updates.

Requirements

• Navy experience as a Submarine Fire Control Technician (FT) or similar (ST, ET, or IT) or Surface Navy experience working in similar technical rates.
• 5-10+ years of experience with AN/BYG-1, AN/BQQ-10, AN/BLQ-10, or Submarine Weapon Launchers, or comparable combat systems.
