About the position

As a Test and Evaluation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in analyzing system requirements and concept of operations documents, acquisition plans, and system descriptions to develop comprehensive Test and Evaluation (T&E) plans and procedures. Your responsibilities will include preparing for and conducting data collection, performing test data analysis, and reporting on the status and results of tests. You will also support the development of Government T&E documentation and collaborate with other test organizations to ensure effective T&E program integration. In this position, you will leverage your experience to work closely with testers, developers, engineers, and cyber experts from the Navy, Warfare Centers, and other testing agencies. Your primary focus will be on evaluating hardware and software developed for integration into Fleet assets. You will create test plans that incorporate mission-based test cases derived from user stories. Utilizing both test automation and manual processes, you will generate data and execute test cases to assess system performance. Documenting the results and communicating any defects to the development team will be essential for driving system improvements. Your role will also involve developing T&E plans and evaluating the effectiveness, suitability, and cybersecurity of the program. Your technical expertise will be vital as you assess large-scale cybersecurity systems. Responsibilities

  • Analyze system requirements and concept of operations documents to develop T&E plans and procedures.
  • Prepare for and conduct data collection and perform test data analysis.
  • Report status and results of tests to stakeholders.
  • Support the development of Government T&E documentation.
  • Collaborate with other test organizations to support T&E program integration.
  • Work with testers, developers, engineers, and cyber experts to evaluate hardware and software for Fleet assets.
  • Build test plans with mission-based test cases based on user stories.
  • Generate data and execute test cases using test automation and manual processes.
  • Document test results and communicate defects to the development team.
  • Develop T&E plans and evaluate the effectiveness, suitability, and cybersecurity of the program.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience with engineering, cybersecurity, or data analysis within technical projects and programs.
  • 3+ years of experience conducting T&E events in a lab or operational environment.
  • Experience with Government T&E concepts, acquisitions, and operations activities to support T&E activities.
  • Experience assessing operational and system performance requirements to prioritize T&E objectives and enable evaluation planning.
  • Ability to work effectively with developers, clients, and leadership.
  • Ability to manage discrepancy reports identified during testing.
  • Ability to draft T&E Master Plans and DT Test Plans.
  • Secret clearance required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics.

  • Experience in an Information Systems Security Manager role.
  • Experience with scripting languages, including Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
  • Experience with Tableau, Jira, or Confluence.
  • Master's degree in Engineering or Science.
