About the position

SEACORP is seeking 2 full-time Mid-Level Test Engineers in Newport, RI and Fairfax, VA. The selected candidates will join a highly talented team responsible for testing the AN/BYG-1 Fire Control System for the US Submarine Force. This team is tasked with the test, evaluation, and design verification of the system under development. The engineers will ensure that functional and technical specifications and standards are met, while also investigating software and hardware interface problems. The responsibilities of the Test and Evaluation Engineer include developing, modifying, and executing test plans, test procedures, and test reports. Ideal candidates will possess a working knowledge of the AN/BYG-1 system and Weapons Launch Consoles. Experience with Linux Operating systems is considered a plus, and familiarity with Strike Software (TTWCS, TCIP, and MDS) is desired. While this position will primarily involve regular business hours, candidates should be prepared for some overtime hours and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, and execute test plans, test procedures, and test reports.
• Ensure functional and technical specifications and standards are met.
• Investigate software and hardware interface problems.
• Test and evaluate the AN/BYG-1 Fire Control System for the US Submarine Force.
• Collaborate with a team of engineers to verify design specifications.

Requirements

• Advanced submarine technical training (e.g. Navy A or C School) or a Bachelor's Degree.
• Minimum of 5 years of Submarine Combat Control Weapon System experience.
• Working knowledge of AN/BYG-1 & Weapons Launch Consoles is required.
• Navy experience as a Fire Control Technician (FT) or similar rating is desired.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Linux Operating systems.
